Avoiding Online Shopping Nightmares
When the internet was introduced in 1990, who could see how it would revolutionise the way we shop today? Online shopping has numerous advantages, and more and more people are preferring to purchase items online than hitting the pavements.
The biggest reasons are that people are time poor, there are no crowds, no sales pressure, you can shop in the convenience of your own home at any time of the day and night, and the sizing charts usually make finding your perfect size easy.
But there are some online nightmares many consumers lose sleep over. Here are some and how to avoid them.
1. Fast fashion
When shopping online try to avoid fast fashion items, especially if they are made from poor fabrics. They won’t hand well, wash or wear well. Don’t be fooled by the images you see, as they will use lighting to enhance the products and you will be disappointed when you receive the item as it won’t look anything like the pictures. Many of these fast fashion online stores also make it hard to exchange, and we have enough fast fashion in landfill, so please avoid wasting your money.
So many times I have had people tell me that they have hesitated about whether or not to purchase something, only to find out that its has sold out of their size by the next day when they have made their decision, and they are left disappointed..
3. Build trust
Find a brand you can trust and know they will look after you. (Our Cazinc The Label clients can email or phone me anytime and chat about their purchases. We also offer style assistance, so our clients understand how valued they are.)
4. Shop in advance
Many clients will purchase items online a day or two before major events, which doesn’t allow enough time to return if there are problems with the fit, meaning they have to do a quick shop and not wear what they had planned. Order well in advance of your event.
5. Don’t wait for sales
We advise you to buy quality and buy less, which means you are shopping for what you want and need. Often people will purchase items because they are on sale, not because they love them. They also find they might order a size up or down if their size isn’t available, which again hangs in their wardrobes, not worn and unloved.
6. Shipping Costs
Know if the online boutique offers free shipping or charges per item, which can add up when ordering a lot online.
Start shopping with confidence and convenience today. Online shopping is here to stay, so with the above nightmares out of the way, you can now rest easy, put your feet up and enjoy hitting the checkout button.
