Stop! What Is Life Is Really About?

Stop! What Is Life Is Really About?

Up until even a few years ago, I was still asking myself “What do I want to do when I grow up?” And I have friends who are in their 50’s still asking themselves the same question.

What it comes down to is this: “We become successful by what we get and become happy by what we give.”

This video below by Jay Shetty is so powerful and I recently watched it again.  Its message is one that I think about often, as every day we see people who are charging purposefully through life but are not happy.

A friend of mine played up on his partner and is the first to admit that he is now rich in finances, but no longer rich in life.  He wanted me to share his story on the blog because he is no longer happy.  Ego took over his life, and in striving for money and prestige, he hurt a lot of people along the way.  He thought with his head and not his heart.  He was, as many of us are, defined by his career and not his life. He forgot what he had and who helped him along the way.

We can all get caught up in the ego, which I will also put my hand up to, but what brings me down to earth is filling my life with gratitude.  Watching videos like the one below, reading inspiring stories, staying present and having fun with everything I do in life, because if you are not having fun, then why do it?  I am also extremely grateful for my family and friends.  We all support each other and the older I get, the more important they become to me.  The more important life is to me.

“Too many people are working hard on things they don’t love, to spend money they don’t have, to buy things they don’t need to impress people they don’t like.”

This is from this video I want to share with you so you can too remember what life is really about.  Be happy and enjoy all the moments of your life!
