Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2019 - Part 2

Three and a half weeks of nonstop laughs is about to take over our fair city with the commencement of the annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival on 27thMarch 2019. Here are some of our picks for our favourite headlining women:

Hannah Gadsby.jpg

Hannah Gadsby - Douglas

Wednesday, 27 March - Sunday 7 April – Arts Centre – Hamer Hall

Having followed Hannah from the bowers of the Melbourne Town Hall, I can’t believe she is about to hit Hamer Hall, well actually I can, anyone see Nanette on Netflix? Get in fast for this short season before we lose Hannah to the US again.

Judith Lucy Vs Men

Thursday, 28 March - Sunday 14 April – Arts Centre Melbourne, Playhouse

Australian comedic royalty – can’t say much more! Judith is back solo this year without her gal pal Denise Scott who is giving it a whirl on DWTS. Vote one for Judith DWTS 2020 I say!

Kitty Flanagan -Smashing

4, 5, 12, 13, 19, 20 April – Palms at Crown Casino

We all love watching Kitty on her many TV appearances, if you missed her live show last year, this is a great chance to see Kitty doing what she does best – educating us via stand-up!

Urzila Carlson -Loser

Thursday, 28 March - Saturday 20 April – Melbourne Town Hall

With a Netflix comedy special under her belt Urzila will not disappoint with her funny (and sometimes crude) thoughts on life and everyday situations. Urzila’s tackling her failures in this year’s show and like every year she is sure to bring the Town Hall down.

Felicity Ward - Busting a Nut

Thursday, 28 March - Sunday 21 April – Melbourne Town Hall

Felicity has been busy with supporting Amy Schumer and being a nominee for best comedy show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2018! Returning from the UK we have been missing Felicity from the festival line-up in recent years, so it is great to have her back at the festival.

Be sure you tune in next Saturday for part three of Tracey’s comedy festival report for 2019 or book your tickets here:  www.comedyfestival.com.au
