Are You The Green-Eyed Monster In Your Relationship?

Nothing can ruin a relationship faster than jealousy. Jealousy often leads to anxiety, anger, loneliness, hate, fear and break-ups.

It is not an easy role to be in a relationship with a jealous partner. The leading cause is a lack of trust. The suspicious party is often the untrusting one, the lack of confidence they have for themself, which makes them feel unworthy. Still, the jealousy makes the person extraordinarily unattractive and often repulsive to their unhappy partner.

With all the partners I have worked with over the years, jealousy makes them miserable. No one wants to be with a jealous partner, and often, the partner dislikes being jealous.

Are you a jealous partner and want to get over it?

Here are some items that worked with couples in my therapy sessions:

1. Locate the cause of your jealousy.

Often you may think your jealousy is caused by your partner looking attractive or by a particular person at work. But that isn't the real cause. That is just a symptom. Try to understand what the actual reason is so that you can then work on finding a solution.

2. Focus on the trigger.

To eliminate jealousy, start by focusing on an activity where you work through one of the primary triggers for your jealousy and try to find the cause.

3. Build up your self-esteem.

Most of the jealousy situations are caused by the jealous lovers feeling that they are not good enough for their partners. They feel inadequate, and they think their partner will leave them for someone else if given half a chance. So one key thing to work on is to build up your self-esteem.
