What Tools Do You Need To Clean Out Your Wardrobe?

What Tools Do You Need To Clean Out Your Wardrobe?

It’s a tough gig doing a wardrobe audit, deciding whether to keep or toss out items.  Some things are old favourites, some represent memories and some items you loved wearing, yet haven’t worn in months or even years, but think you should keep ‘just in case’ you might wear them again.

However, with the right tools to help with the “mindset” process of clearing out, you can eliminate all the things you don’t need, yet still have a wardrobe that is full of clothes you love to wear.

Here are five tools to help you:

1.    Garbage Bags

You need a few garbage bags, one for tossing (things that are very worn are not suitable for charity shops), one for giving away and one to take to market to sell, or place on eBay if you wish to do this.

2.    Cleaning tools

While you are clearing your wardrobe, why not give it a thorough clean?  This includes shelves, carpets, drawers and those hard to reach places so your clothes can go back to a clean, fresh-smelling space.

3.    Storage Boxes

These come in handy to store summer shoes in winter, or winter shoes in summer, or even the clothes you really can’t bear to toss out.  If this is the case, store these clothes out of sight until you know if you genuinely miss them or not.  If not, it is time to toss.

4.    Coat Hangers

Having a wardrobe of quality and matching coat hangers make your wardrobe not only functional, but beautiful.  Good hangers will also keep the shape of the clothes and avoid unsightly stretch marks. At Cazinc The Label, we have been sponsored by Henkerman Hangers, which are the ultimate in stylish hangers.  We also use the black velvet hangers or white wooden hangers from Ikea.

5.    Accessory Boxes

Are all your accessories, including jewellery, all bunched up and tangled in a drawer?  If yes, then take a trip to Ikea or a similar store to purchase boxes to itemise your items.  And if you do go to Ikea, buy their drawer boxes, designed to separate your intimates, like underwear, bras and socks neatly inside your drawers.

Happiness is a clean wardrobe, less clothes, but you have more outfits to wear. Bliss.
