8 Winter Staples You Will Love

8 Winter Staples You Will Love

Winter is literally just around the corner, and I don’t know about you, but my wardrobe is in need of some serious revising as at present, winter is mixed in with summer items, including shoes.

Quite frankly, it is a mess.  Are you feeling my pain?

It’s time to put away the summer shorts, tops, dresses, pants and open toe sandals.  They need to be packed up or put to the back of the wardrobe.  While doing this, take an audit of what needs to be removed.  Which items didn’t you wear this summer?  How to create a fantastic winter wardrobe?

After your wardrobe audit, it is time to look for the holes in your wardrobe.  What is missing that you will need to stay warm over the winter months?

Here are eight of my staple items you may also love in your winter wardrobe.  In my wardrobe, they are monotone in black and white.  Your staple colour may be browns or creams.  A tip here is to stick to the basic colours you love and add colour with wows to your wardrobe.

1. A Warm Winter Coat

Like this gorgeous leather detailed coat from DEA The Label I will be wearing for years.

2.  A Cashmere Jumper

I purchased this jumper years ago from Sassind and it will remain a staple in my wardrobe for years too.

3.  Black Paton Leather Boots

These gorgeous boots from Mollini Shoes can be worn night and day, day and night, and they go with almost everything.

4. A Black Dress

This gorgeous lace dress by Gysette, purchased at DEA The Label, is my go-to for all seasons.  Over winter I can team with a jacket and black stockings, or wear bare legs when it's warmer or for a more dressy occasion.  A winner I have worn often.  Shoes by Ginger And Smart, purchased at Honey.

5.  A Really Cool Shirt

I lashed out and purchased this shirt from US label Anine Bing this season.  I am not disappointed as the shirt has been worn on several occasions already and will remain a staple in my wardrobe over many winters.

6. A Long Cool Cardigan

Ok, I admit I am not a cardigan lover as many can make you look older, or the styles lose their shape, which isn't an image we want.  But when you have a gorgeous cardigan, like this one from Gysette, you can be stylish and comfortable.

7. A Gorgeous Scarf

This is a scarf I invested in years ago and one I will own in my wardrobe forever because it is so easy to style.  A gorgeous scarf can lift any simple outfit, like this one of pants, boots, t-shirt and jacket.  The wow is the scarf.  It won't only keep you warm, it will make you look incredibly stylish so don't buy many cheap scarves, but instead invest in one or two beautiful scarves.

8. Super Warm and Comfortable Mules

The moment I walk through the door after work, the heels are kicked off and these gorgeous warm Mules from Mollini are slipped on.  Or if I am having a day at home in the office or want to still be stylish and comfortable, these are my go to shoes.

They are every stylish bloggers dream shoe.  A great winter staple for your wardrobe.

Styled here with the same pants and t-shirt as above, but I have added this gorgeous leather scarf/shawl.
