Discover The Shopping Secret Of European Women

Discover The Shopping Secret Of European Women

In 2010 I travelled to Paris.  Back then I was styling up to ten women per week in Australia, so I spent many hours at the large shopping centres.

What I noticed in Paris was women were confident, stylish, happy and only carried one or two shopping bags.

After years of shopping with clients in centres around Australia, I have noticed many (not all) women looking sad, wearing activewear, leggings or tracksuits with old runners.  They are spending up on stylish items (I know this by the amount of bags they were carrying), clothes they will hang in their wardrobes, but not have the confidence to wear.

When in Italy last year, I loved looking at the gorgeous and confident Italian women.  They shopped, and instead of having an armful of items, just like the French women they only bought one or two pieces to add to their wardrobes, which consist of the essential items and a few "wows".

The European women have learnt the secret of creating a wardrobe that works for them.  They incorporate streetwear with high-end items to keep up with the latest styles and fashion.

What they have also learnt is to wear the clothes they purchase; they don't save them for that special occasion that never arrives.  I noticed this as a common occurrence while styling wardrobes for clients.  Many of them had items with tags still on them.  Items my clients didn't have the confidence to wear as the clothes were too good or they didn't know what to pair them with.  They often dressed to "fit in" with others, trying to wear what others wore and not stand out from the crowd.

It wasn't until my clients built the confidence to wear the quality clothes they owned that their lives took a turn for the better.

They stopped caring about what others wore and dressed for themselves.

Their postures improved as they stood tall in their beautiful clothes.

They saved money as they realised they didn't have to have a huge wardrobe full of clothes to be a stylish woman.

So please, next time you go shopping, rather than restocking, purchase one quality item to add to your wardrobe.  One investment piece you will wear over and over again for many years.  And wear it often and wherever.

Designing a wardrobe that works for you is the shopping secret of European women.  They buy less and value quality over quantity.  Please share this article around and soon the European women will be writing about the shopping secrets of Australian women!

Live your best life with style.

Don't put items to the back of your wardrobe because they are too good to wear.  Bring them to the front and centre.

Wear your cashmere jumpers daily.

Wear your best jeans daily.

Wear your good blazers daily.

Enjoy life to the max.  You are worth it.
