What To Do Before Planning Your Autumn/Winter Wardrobe?
Autumn is upon us already. Are you like me and find it hard to believe it is already March? It feels like yesterday we were clicking champagne glasses to celebrate the new year.
March to us in the fashion world is a month we love; with the new season comes new styles we like to present to you. March is also the month to begin to look at your current wardrobe and decide what to keep and toss. Go through your summer clothes and work out what you didn’t wear and ask yourself why? Then decide whether to keep or throw. Place your summer clothes to the back of your wardrobe and bring to the forefront your Autumn/Winter clothes.
Again, look at what you already own before you hit the shops or visit your favourite online stores. Check out our articles to see which items you would like to invest in for the seasons and what you need for your essential products.
After you have finished seeing what you own, make a list of what is missing to create the looks you need.
Do you need to invest in a new coat or jackets?
Do you need essential items to wear for warmth?
Do you need "wows" to add to your basics?
Do you need new shoes? (Nothing breaks a great style more than sad shoes!)
When you do hit the shops and see something you love, ask yourself if it is the style you are after and if it goes with at least five other items in your wardrobe. As you are witnessing in my fashion shoots, I have a large wardrobe, but it is one that works for me and I have many 'old favourites' mixed in with the new items. Learn to wear everything you own, and wear it often.
I laughed a few weeks ago on a girl’s weekend. One of my gorgeous girlfriends told me how she has a “best” section of her wardrobe, and that what I was wearing would be in her “best” section, put away for special occasions. She felt liberated when I told her to remove the label of her “best” and start wearing these items often. After seeing me wear my leather pants to breakfast and not caring, she was inspired to wear her besties!
As most of you are aware, Cazinc has collaborated with many boutiques and labels, including DEA The Label. I am conducting individual 1-hour style sessions in store during March/April. There is no charge for the consultations; it's my way of giving back to our loyal readers, a way to say thank you. I love nothing more than educating others on style, and these sessions give you a chance to learn more about you. I can speak to you about what you discovered reading “Your Ultimate Style eBook” and answer any questions you may have. A fabulous way to continue on your style journey.
