A Book We Loved From A Magical Author
On Saturday while reading my favourite paper, the Saturday Age, I came across an article titled "Books That Changed Me" from Tom Lee, who is the author of the novel Coach Fitz.
Among his selection was the book "The Casual Vacancy" by famed Harry Potter author JK Rowling, a book I recently read and enjoyed so much I wanted to share on the blog because I know many of our readers are fans of the book and TV series "Big Little Lies" by Australian author (and a Cazinc fav) Liane Moriarty.
The Casual Vacancy, set around the gossip of a small English town, reminded me of Big Little Lies.
To my surprise, Tom was amongst the few who managed to miss the Harry Potter phenomenon but realised the magic of JK Rowling with reading this book and realised she was a master of her craft.
He said, "The book is nothing radical, but it will tell you more about life in an English country village than a team of anthropologists will uncover in a decade. And it is a pleasure to read."
I couldn't agree more. I loved the book and thoroughly recommend you grab a copy from your local independent bookstore.
