How To Create An Effortless and Affordable Winter Wardrobe

How To Create An Effortless and Affordable Winter Wardrobe

Our team loves winter.  Do you think we are crazy for enjoying the cooler months?  But we find it is a fabulous time to create amazing outfits with all the mix and match and layering.

Then the bonus is to add gorgeous coats, which make styling fun and keep us warm at the same time.

How to put a fabulous wardrobe together is easy when you know how and create wardrobe capsules.

This article is to show you how I have put my winter wardrobe together this season, which works well for my lifestyle as a blogger.

This will be written as a step by step process for you to make it even easier.  Everything written below, including core colours, styles, etc are all explained in "Your Ultimate Style" eBook - with over 200 pages of information for you to learn how to create your ultimate wardrobe.

1. Colours

This winter I have selected core colours of black, grey, white and bone.  These are the main colours in my winter wardrobe.  The basic colours for a hint of "pop" are used with accessories.

2. Undergarments

Over winter I have a range of singlets and long sleeve tops to layer under shirts and jumpers.  Singlets mainly come from K Mart, Ezibuy or Target.

I have added a few long sleeve tops, which go well under a blazer for attending meetings, or a jumper for extra warmth.  I lashed out and purchased marino tops from Katmandu.  Ultimate in warmth and worth every cent.

Believe it or not, I purchased a few long sleeve tops from Millers ($15) and Coles ($5).  These have been fantastic for the warmer days of autumn and winter.

The first step is to clean out your wardrobe.  Moving to a smaller abode this year, I sold off half my wardrobe!  This has been a refreshing exercise as the secret is to have less items, but ones that work of your lifestyle.     Photo

3. Wardrobe Capsules

Wardrobe capsules are items to base your wardrobe around.  If you are extremely busy and have to go from "Housewife to Hornbag" quickly, then a great idea is to create a uniform to suit your lifestyle and career for the season.

This winter my wardrobe capsules (uniform) are mainly jeans, pants, jumpers and boots, and has predominately come from Witchery clothing.  Learn why Witchery are fantastic for basic items here, including their amazing rewards program, which is the best out of all the Australian department stores.

Jeans and Pants

Witchery has a great selection of jeans and pants, (I am wearing warm velvet jeans today and love them).  I love the style of their jeans as they are all high waisted, which are comfortable and suit my body shape.  And the leg length sits at the top of my low cut boots, which is the look this season.

Jumpers

Jumpers have become a huge part of my winter wardrobe as they keep me warm while sitting at the desk all day.  They are super easy to style with jeans.

My staple jumpers are from Witchery, which I purchased when they have a 25% off sale.  They are fantastic V neck jumpers, which suit my "large chest" (dividing) and with the onset of menopause, great for the "hot" moments!  The 2 styles purchased are here and here.

4. Shoes

Mollini shoes have become my staple shoes as they are a great price and ultra stylish and comfortable.  No matter whether heels, flats or the style trend slides, they are worth checking out.

5. Luxurious Items

Now it is time to add the "wows" to the uniform, or wardrobe staples.  These purchases are from boutiques and designer labels, so they all have different price points.  Some can be expensive, but they are stylish and will be in my wardrobe for years.  Others are fashion, which I do not invest in.

As most of you know, especially if you have subscribed to Cazinc (by subscribing you will receive more style and fashion tips), I love the brand Maude Dainty.  Most of my winter "wows" have come from here, including jeans, jacket, coat and this gorgeous vest.  I purchase Maud Dainty items from Honey Boutique.

A variety of jumper styles have made their way into my wardrobe as they will be worn over and over.  One of my fav's are the cashmere from Sassind.  Luxurious and gorgeous to wear.  Sassine's marino jumpers are also gorgeous, (in fact everything is beautiful) including their marino wrap, which is brilliant to snuggle under.  Check out their new range here.

I love jumpers that don't have the horizontal hemline from Luxe Fashions and Intrigue On Rose (check out their amazing range of gowns).

I have also purchased two French jumpers with in vogue from Honey Boutique.

Most of my coats have been from previous years, which I have gradually built up a collection. In the collection are statement coats, colourful coats, amazing faux fur coats and classic trench style coats.  90% of these coats have all been purchased during sales.

As you can see above, everything for my winter wardrobe has to be warm, comfortable and stylish!

I hope by sharing some of my style secrets have shown you how easy it can be and this inspires you to make your wardrobe easy also.
