After 3 Heart Surgeries, How This Stylish Grandma Remains Young At Heart
Age is just a number, and evidence of this is an amazing 70-year-old, gorgeous grandma of 5, who still rocks shorts, jeans and bikini’s, and is such a beautiful glamour, inside and out. Not only is she gorgeous, Rose is fit and healthy, despite having 3 open heart surgeries.
I met Rose while booking a holiday to New Zealand last year. Since our meeting, I have been inspired by Rose, and last week had the pleasure of enjoying a meal, and a glass of wine, or 3, with her, and now she has kindly shared her story with us, about how she remains young at heart.
I hope you are inspired by Rose’s story as much as I was. Such an inspirational lady who loves everyone, no matter what age. She has a fabulous relationship with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Rose’s career started at channel 9, being one of their first employees. Her role was handling the TV commercials for TCN 9 Sydney, from 1961 to 1969.
During this time, Rose married and left to become a mother to Rowena (1970) and Rachael (1972).
Rose has always worked, as she loves communication with people, it keeps her young. Rose became a part-time book keeper for a cabinet maker in 1972 and remained on the job, one she loved for nine years.
In 1979, Rose left the cabinet maker job to open a travel agent in Essendon. In 1983, Rose gave birth to her third daughter, Natalie, but Rose stilled worked at their company, despite having a baby, and then heart surgery in 1984.
Due to unforeseen circumstances out of Rose’s control, her marriage ended in 1990, leaving Rose with three children, and no money. So Rose did what she has always done, dusted herself off, and got on with living.
Rose opened Triple R Travel in 1991 with her daughter Rowena, and they have run a very successful travel agency for 26 years, despite Rose having two more open-heart surgeries in 1994.
Rose has five beautiful grandchildren age from 24years to 4 years and started working part-time five years ago, at the retiring age of 65, so she could mind her two little grandchildren, who keep her young.
“Life is great. I wake up every morning, put make up on, walk for 5 kilometre's and work out twice a week with weights. I love shopping, going on holidays and catching up with friends for a couple of wines. I am so grateful l to have good health and a great family.”
I asked Rose how she remains young at heart?
- Be Grateful
- Be Positive
- Keep fit and healthy
- Socialize with friends
- Everything in moderation
Rose would love to hear your comments below, or if you know of another "groovy" grandma, (I know one, my own mum), we would love for you to share.
