How French Women Maintain Great Skin Eating Spinach

French women have consuming large amount of spinach for an injection of health to their bodies, assisting with their daily skin routines.  Since I have made spinach a huge part of my diet, even consuming large amounts for breakfast in smoothies, I have noticed a difference in the health of my skin.

Spinach is not only tasty, it is a huge vitamin pill, being high in beta-carotene, which converts to a powerful antioxidant, anti-aging and fat soluble, (another bonus), vitamin A.  

Vitamin A plays a critical role in maintaining healthy skin, and consuming large amounts of antioxidant Vitamin A is a natural way of slowing down aging.  Vitamin A is also found in other sources of foods, such as eggs, carrots, squash, and other green leafy vegetables.

Spinach assists with moisture retention to the epidermis, which promotes anti-aging with wrinkle prevention, and removal of dead skin cells, allowing new skin cells to surface on your skin, promoting new, youthful and hydrated skin.

When attending your facials, you will not only hear your beautician speak about how moisture retention to the epidermis is great for your skin, you will also hear them speak about lipoic acid.  Lipoic acid assists the regeneration of vitamins C and E.  Vitamin C assists the skin to make more collagen, a protein that aids in the growth of cells and blood vessels, providing a firmer and stronger skin.  Vitamin C aids in skin repair by slowing the rate of free-radical damage to collagen, assisting with a more hydrated skin, improving fine lines and wrinkles.  Vitamin E is also an important antioxidant to protect and repair your skin, and plays an important role in maintaining a more youthful skin.

We purchase many bags of spinach each week, as they can be consumed with almost anything.  You can also purchase frozen spinach, handy to keep in the freezer.
