Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival 2017
Melbourne comes alive in March, with the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, which started on 1st March, and goes through to 19th March. The annual festival has something for everyone, exploring fashion, arts, ideas and creative endeavour.
Whether you are into fashion or not, there will still be something for you. The festival allows Australian designers to showcase their work, with runway shows, beauty workshops, retail events, seminars, forums, exhibitions, workshops, parties and so much more.
The girls and I are booked in to see a runway show at the Royal Exhibition building, featuring many of our favourite Australian labels, including Kitx (Designer Kitt Willow, below), Bianca Spender, Bassike, Scanlan Theodore, Strateas Carlucci, Albus lumen and Christopher Esber.
Tickets start from $59, but at many of the shows you will receive a goody bag, worth over $100.
Some of the shows I recommend are:
- Fashion Industry Forums
- Talking Sustainable Fashion with Clare Press
- Arts Program Walking Tour
- Launch of Australian Style, The Who’s Who of Australian Fashion
- Fashion Film Series at M.A.D.E.
- And if you are like me and love Haute Couture, then the Haute Couture Houses show is a must for you.
There are numerous seats for shows still available.
Go to: vamff.com.au and have a look around. I am sure you will find something for you.
See you there……
Melbourne French Film Festival starts 8th March - 30th March. See our review on which movies to see.
