Fabulous Holiday Read - Music and Freedom

Storm coming so not much to do other than eat beautiful frontage cheese and grapes, and read the latest Zoe Morrison novel, which I devoured in an afternoon, the book and the cheese!

I loved this book, a heartbreaking tale of a brilliant young pianist who left her homelands of Australia to study in England, to her mothers sorrow. Alice was crushed by a dreadful husband, who abused her mentally and physically. I'm not a musician, but the writing about Alice's piano playing and music ability was captivating.

The book extremely moving and sad without being hopeless, so be prepared, tissues are a must. Beautifully written. Congratulations to Zoe Morrison on an outstanding debut novel xx
