3 Easy Steps To Turn Your Hobby Into A Business

Do you have a hobby you love?  Or something you are passionate about that you could turn into a business.  Or something you like to do while not working?  Gardening, photography, baking cupcakes, sewing - dressmaking, fashion design or patchwork, knitting, writing, cooking, reading, playing an instrument, sculpting with clay, pottery, the list goes on.

Last year when I was moving to the city, I wanted to do something different.  I love to educate and still wanted to utilize my skills as a stylist, coach, and therapist.  When I owned my style and image company, I realized I loved to write the monthly newsletter and share ideas.  So this year Cazinc blog was born, and the rest is history.  I have turned a hobby of writing into a business.
Whatever it might be, why not consider turning your side project into your side career – that is, a profitable side business that generates extra income. It’s easier than you think.

All you need to do is the three P's:


Promise


First of all, you need to think about your promise. Your promise should make it clear to potential customers how they’ll benefit from your product or service. Imagine you want to offer guitar lessons as your side career; your promise could be to deliver “the most awesome guitar lessons in the universe.” (but make sure you can back this up!).


Pitch


Next is to have a solid pitch. An awesome pitch should contain everything the potential customer might need to know about your service.  Be specific with your pitch so clients know exactly what you have to offer, why you are providing this service and how you will deliver.

Price


Lastly, you need a clear price and a call to action. Your potential customer should know at a glance what the price is and how to purchase. A simple “click this button to order” or “register here” button will do the trick.


Follow the three P's and you’ll be well on your way to a profitable side career and turn your passion into dollars.
