How To Quickly Style Your Kitchen Sink?
It never ceases to amaze me the people you meet.
If you are a regular reader of Cazinc, you will know I love my mornings at my favourite café, St Rose. This morning as I was blogging away over my latte, I met another brilliant and inspirational person.
Sitting opposite me was a gorgeous woman. I didn’t see her until I spoke to my Pilates instructors, then she spoke up and asked me about Pilates. From this, we chatted. Natasha, (well, Dr Natasha) is a scientist by trade, but is now the “sponge lady.”
Read on to hear her story of how she stood at the sink one day and didn’t like the green and gold sponges. This thought has led to massive success with her company, Barkly Basics. The sponges are all designed in black and white, which has led to beautiful products for your kitchen.
So, if you are like Natasha and don’t like the colours of your sponges, read on to give your kitchen a lift at a reasonable price. (BTW: I love my products, not only do they look brilliant with my marble bench top, they are fantastic to work with. I never knew I could be so excited about kitchen cleaning products).
Natasha has used her science degree (8 years of uni studies) in every avenue possible. From Corporate to sales to consulting. Natasha has moved around because she never felt settled or fulfilled. This work did not tap into her creative brain, and as we know, women are creative, and we need to exercise this skill.
What I found out today about gorgeous Natasha is that she is dyslexic. Natasha is living proof that this disability doesn’t have to hold you back, you can still obtain a PhD, thanks for spell check.
And thank goodness for ugly kitchen products. Because of this, Natasha (as stated above) was inspired to create Barkly Basics. I love the name, which Natasha picked as she adored her friend's dog Barkly, so he became the star of her brand.
I have been extremely fortunate to use the starter pack Natasha provided for me. All I can say is that I love the dishwashing liquid smell so much that I almost poured it into a cocktail glass to drink it.
“Designing the kitchen sponge is just the beginning” - Natasha.
Since creating Barkly Basics 18 months ago, Natasha now sells approximately 1,000 products per week. They feature in many interior magazines, including Inside Out and Fete Press. She now ships worldwide and is about to enter the US Market.
If you are looking for a fantastic Christmas present that they will love you for (even though it is for the kitchen, and generally if someone gave you something for the kitchen you would throw it at them), then head on over to Barkly Basics. But be warned, these products are addictive.
